Katrina Connors, Director of the Salmon Watersheds Program, recently authored an article responding to the ongoing drought in B.C. and its impacts on salmon. The piece addresses how drought conditions are already impacting migrating salmon and how these conditions would affect juvenile salmon survival in the coming years if we continue to experience dryer conditions. Knowing that climate change is already negatively impacting salmon and their ecosystems, we need to develop responsive management systems and focus on habitat conservation and restoration to allow these resilient species to adapt.
