The Pacific Salmon Foundation and the Ministry of Environment have jointly managed and administered funding for this entry of angling guide report information for the Skeena watershed for the 2004/2005, 2005/2006, and 2006/2007 licence years into the Angling Guide Management System (AGMS) database, and for the update of the AGMS to a more recent version of Microsoft Access (MS Access 2007). The remainder of the angling guide reports, presently not entered in the AGMS database (i.e. 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2008/2009 licence years), will hopefully be entered by the Skeena Region Fisheries Section of the Ministry of Environment (BCE) or as funds become available. The data summary for this project will include the data from angling guide reports for the 1990/1991 to 2001/2002 licence years that were entered by BCE and for the 2007/2008 licence year for the Skeena watershed that was more recently entered into the AGMS for a preliminary update of guided angling activity (SKR 2009). The primary intent of this update is to provide a more complete view of recent guiding activities to show any potential trends or variations in guided angler demographics, effort, catch, and the status of angling guide activities in the Skeena Watershed. This data summary report provides the following:

• background information for the Skeena watershed, sport fishery and angling management plan,
• a description of the Angling Guide Management System, data entry, and updates to the database and its functions,
• a general summary of the angling guide data for the Skeena Watershed from 1990 to 2001 and 2004 to 2007 licence years, and
• a brief discussion of the results with some suggestions of potential modifications to the data requirements, AGMS data entry tool, AGMS dataset, and data quality assurance to improve the reliability and usefulness of future information collected from angling guides.
